In light of the coronavirus outbreak, employees in the travel and tourism industry in Norway is currently facing layoffs or dismissals. According to a survey conduced by the employers organization NHO Reiseliv, several businesses in different sectors recently had to terminate employees. Most companies dismissed between 76 and 100 percent of their employees. As of April 17, this was the case for 84 percent of businesses in the service and nightlife sector, and for 82 percent of businesses in the experience and culture sector. In the hotel and accommodation sector, the number of terminations amounted to 81 percent.
